HEAT EXCHANGER AND REFORMER
To provide a heat exchanger capable of being easily mounted on a vehicle as a reformer, being firmly held, and sufficiently supplying heat from an exhaust gas to a part where a catalyst is supported.SOLUTION: In a heat exchanger obtained by combining a first honeycomb structure which is made of ceramics and formed by arranging a number of cells applied as a first circulation passage of a fluid in parallel in a longitudinal direction through partitions, and second honeycomb structures which are disposed at both sides of the first honeycomb structure, and formed by arranging a number of cells applied as a second circulation passage of a fluid in parallel in a longitudinal direction through partitions, in a manner that the first circulation passage and the second circulation passage are orthogonal to each other, further having a substantially circular column shape where both end faces of the first honeycomb structure are positioned on both end faces, and provided with a coating layer on a part of an outer peripheral surface, a ratio of an opening area of the first honeycomb structure and an opening area of the second honeycomb structure (opening area of first honeycomb structure/opening area of second honeycomb structure) is 0.4-0.9.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
【課題】 改質器として容易に車載収容できるとともに、しっかりと保持することが可能で、かつ、触媒が担持された部分に排ガスからの熱を充分に供給することができる熱交換器を提供する。【解決手段】 流体の第1流通路となる多数のセルが隔壁を隔てて長手方向に並設されたセラミック製の第1のハニカム構造体と、前記第1のハニカム構造体の両側に配置され、流体の第2流通路となる多数のセルが隔壁を隔てて長手方向に並設されたセラミック製の第2のハニカム構造体とが、前記第1流通路と前記第2流通路とが直交するように組み合わされ、さらに、両端面に前記第1のハニカム構造体の両端面が位置する略円柱形状であり、外周面の一部にコート層が形成されている熱交換器であって、前記第1のハニカム構造体の開口面積と、前記第2のハニカム構造体の開口面積との比(第1のハニカム構造体の開口面積/第2のハニカム構造体の開口面積)は、0.4〜0.9であることを特徴とする熱交換器。【選択図】 図2
