To provide a storage type spiral stairway capable of providing opening living space when not used.SOLUTION: A storage type spiral stairway includes: a stairwell portion 34 making upstairs 14 and downstairs 12 of a housing 10 communicate with each other; a storage portion 36 provided in the downstairs 12 so as to be adjacent to the stairwell portion 34 and constituting a stairway space 38 together with the stairwell portion 34; a plurality of detection means 76 provided in the stairway space 38 so as to detect an operation of an ascending/descending person 84 in the stairwell portion 34; a shaft column 42 provided between the stairwell portion 34 and the storage portion 36; and a plurality of movable step boards 54 which is constituted so as to be stored in the storage portion 36 and individually rotated around the shaft column 42 so as to be disposed in the stairwell portion 34 according to the operation of the ascending/descending person 84 detected by the plurality of detection means 76.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
