To provide a device and a method for easily and safely erecting a column member in any place by using a floor plate (floor iron plate) generally used in a construction yard, if the plate is laid in a predetermined range, and to provide a device and a method for erecting the column member with good workability.SOLUTION: A column member erecting device is provided with: a floor plate 2 laid in a construction yard; a pair of width stoppers 31 and 31 arranged in parallel with a predetermined distance on the floor plate 2; a traveling guide member 3 comprising a pair of stoppers 32 and 32 arranged in front of and behind the width stoppers 31 and 31, respectively; and a slide material 5 moving along the traveling guide member 3.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
