To provide a portable terminal, a portable terminal position determining system, and a portable terminal position determining method that improve convenience of a user while inhibiting theft of a vehicle.SOLUTION: A portable terminal 1 comprises a control unit 19. If a reference position 100 is included in a first region 881, the control unit controls a region determination unit 13 to switch from the first region 881 to a second region 882 and determines whether the reference position 100 is included, and if a trigger signal S12 has been received from a state of communication with a vehicle 8, the control unit controls the region determination unit 13 to switch from the first region 881 to a third region 883 and determines whether the reference position 100 is included, during a predetermined setting period T from a reception time when the trigger signal S12 was received. Further, if the reference position 100 is included in a region of a determination object, the control unit outputs an in-vehicle response signal S4 for permitting the start of at least a drive device 30 of the vehicle 8, to the vehicle.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
