To provide an electromagnetic wave absorption material of which an electromagnetic wave absorption performance in a high frequency domain equal to or higher than 10 GHz is improved, and an electromagnetic wave absorber containing the material.SOLUTION: The present invention relates to an electromagnetic wave absorption material contains a complex oxide having a composition expressed by a formula: aBiFe1-xMexO3-(1-a)XTiO3 (wherein Me is one or more elements selected from among Co, Ni, Mn and Cr, X is Ba and/or Bi0.5K0.5, (a) is equal to or greater than 0.01 and equal to or smaller than 0.99 and (x) is equal to or greater than 0 and equal to or smaller than 0.2) and consisting of a pseudo-cubic crystal phase. The electromagnetic wave absorption material is used for absorbing electromagnetic waves within a frequency domain equal to or higher than 10 GHz and equal to or lower than 100 GHz.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
