To provide a solar shading device for allowing the adjustment of braking force of a brake mechanism even if a model has a shading body different in weight or even if members of the same model are different in sliding resistance from each other.SOLUTION: The solar shading device includes a driving shaft 16 for lifting/lowering the shading body, a brake mechanism 17 for decelerating the driving shaft, and a planetary gear mechanism 18 for adjusting the degree of deceleration of the driving shaft by the brake mechanism, the planetary gear mechanism having a sun gear 21, an internal gear 19, a plurality of planetary gears 22, and a planetary carrier 23. It further includes an adjustment mechanism 26 having an elastic member 26a which can be pushed against the internal gear in the axial direction of the driving shaft. The planetary carrier is connected to the driving shaft, and the sun gear is connected to the brake mechanism. The adjustment mechanism adjusts force to push the elastic member against the internal gear to reduce the rotating speed of or stop the internal gear and thereby increase the rotating speed of the sun gear, so that the brake mechanism develops a braking function to reduce the rotating speed of the driving shaft.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
