To provide a technology that reliably lowers a shielding material even when the shielding material is folded.SOLUTION: An operation device 1 for a solar shielding device 100 comprises: cord pulleys 20 and 30 to which one end of an operation cord used for elevation of a shielding material is fixed so that the operation cord is allowed to be wound and pulled out; a clutch unit that regulates rotation of an elevation shaft in a direction in which the shielding material lowers due to its own weight; and one-way clutch devices 40 and 50 provided between the cord pulleys and the clutch unit. A space SP, which allows the cord pulleys 20, 30 to idle with respect to the one-way clutch device when the operation cord is operated, is provided between the cord pulleys 20, 30 and the one-way clutch device in a pull-out direction in which the operation cord is pulled in a rotation direction. A regulation mechanism is provided for regulating the rotation of the one-way clutch devices in winding directions -R1, -R2 by affecting on the one-way clutch devices 40, 50 at finish of winding rotation of the cord pulleys 20, 30 for winding the operation cord.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 8
