To provide a housing unit in which a door is not easily broken open, and provide an automatic fee collection machine.SOLUTION: A housing unit includes: a housing; a door having a plate part, a first cover protruding from the plate part in a direction intersecting with a plate surface of the plate part, and a second cover protruding from the plate part in a direction along the plate surface; and a third cover protruding toward the second cover in a state that the door is closed. In the state that the door is closed, the first cover is provided in a space enclosed by the housing, the door, and the third cover. In the state that the door is closed, the first cover protrudes toward the housing.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
