To provide a foundation structure and a foundation structure construction method allowing construction cost and construction time to be reduced even when constructing pits in a foundation of a structure as well as securing the same workability as a case without construction of pits.SOLUTION: A foundation structure construction method for a foundation 1 including a work floor 3 installed on the ground 2 and footing 4 installed at a position of a column 9 of a construction with spaced in two directions on the plane of the work floor 3 to support a first story floor 8 of the construction comprises the steps of: installing a mat foundation 5 in a direction intersecting with the direction of at least footings 4, 4 being adjacent to each other, between the adjacent footings 4, 4 in either of directions on the working floor 3; installing a beam 6 between the adjacent footings 4, 4 in a direction parallel to either of directions where the mat foundation 5 continues; and installing the first story floor 8 on a top end of the footing 4, to support the first story floor 8 with the footing 4.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
