To provide a stepladder serving as a ladder that can be easily transited from a stepladder state to a closed state.SOLUTION: A stepladder 10 includes an opening stop mechanism 7 to which a pair of ladder bodies 2, 2 are connected, which can be transformed into a closed state, a stepladder state, and a ladder state, and which restricts a relative displacement between the ladder bodies 2, 2 in the stepladder state. The opening stop mechanism 7 includes a restriction release member 11 which releases the restriction of the relative displacement between the ladder bodies 2, 2 in the stepladder state, the restriction release member 11 includes a rod-shaped operation section 12 provided between the pair of ladder bodies 2, 2 in parallel with a step rail 4, and a connecting section 13 which connects the respective end sections of the operation section 12 and the opening stop mechanism 7. The restriction release member 11 is arranged at a position not interfering with the ladder bodies 2, 2 when the stepladder 10 is in the closed state and the ladder state.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
