To provide "a warning device and a warning method" by which in the case that an unfavorable situation may arise for a person when the person opens a door when the person enters a vehicle through the door, occurrence of such situation can be avoided.SOLUTION: A warning device 12 comprises: an object detection part 30 which detects that there is an object other than vehicle equipment near a door inside the door for each door provided on a vehicle; an entering detection part 31 which detects that a person is trying to enter the vehicle, and specifies a door, which is used for entering, as an attention door; and a warning part 32 which warns a person when there is the object near the attention door inside the attention door when the person is trying to enter the vehicle. The device performs warning when there is any object inside the door which is used for entering, and causes a person to recognizes about that.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
