To provide a molten iron pretreatment container capable of improving the durability of a workpiece refractory therein and remarkably increasing the usage count thereof.SOLUTION: In a molten iron pretreatment container for holding or/refining a molten a workpiece refractory at least at a part of a region on a side upper than an iron bath part therein is composed of a magnesia-spinel brick, in which, in chemical components, the content of Al2O3 is 1 or more to 44 mass% or less, the content of MgO is 55 or more to 98 mass% or less, and the total content of the Al2O3 and the MgO is 80 or more to 99 mass% or less. The refractory lining structure of the molten iron pretreatment container has excellent erosion resistance and crack resistance so as to withstand the severe service conditions of molten iron pretreatment treatment to remarkably improve durability compared with the conventional refractory lining structure.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
