To provide a support member capable of forming an air passage from an eaves to a ridge while suppressing heightening of a roof and suppressing deterioration of strength of the roof, using a climbing beam structure in which a part to support the side of a purlin is pre-installed on the climbing beam.SOLUTION: The support member for supporting a purlin installed on a receiving portion of a climbing beam structure including a climbing beam, and a receiving portion that rises from the upper surface of the climbing beam and extends in a direction orthogonal to the climbing beam, includes an attached portion attached to the receiving portion, at least one support portion having an underside support surface for supporting the underside of the purlin, and at least one connecting portion that connects the attached portion to the support portion so that the underside support surface is placed on the side of the climbing beam and below the upper surface of the climbing beam in a state where the attached portion is attached to the receiving portion.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
