To provide a coated steel material having high durability even in a severe environment, a manufacturing method of a coated steel material, an earth retaining member, a connecting metal fitting, and an earth retaining structure.SOLUTION: A coated steel material comprises: a base material composed of a hot-dip galvanized steel material; and a first coating layer formed on a surface of the base material.
