To provide a building foundation that can be provided with a tie beam structure as needed, and a method for constructing the same.SOLUTION: A building foundation 10 comprises: a first foundation portion 13 having a first erected portion 22; a second foundation portion 14 extending parallel to the first foundation portion 13 and having a second erected portion 27; and a foundation tie beam portion 30 connecting the first erected portion 22 to the second erected portion 27. The foundation tie beam portion 30 comprises: a first contact portion 32 that contacts a first outer surface 23 of the first erected portion 22; a second contact portion 33 that contacts a second outer surface 28 of the second erected portion 27; and a connecting member 31 that connects the first contact portion 32 to the second contact portion 33. The connecting member 31 penetrates the first foundation portion 13 and is connected to the first contact portion 32, and penetrates the second foundation portion 14 and is connected to the second contact portion 33.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
