To make it possible to estimate a two-dimensional distribution which is not limited to a horizontal direction when estimating, from an image showing a distribution of one physical quantity related to an earth structure, a distribution of another physical quantity different from one physical quantity by image conversion.SOLUTION: An image processing method includes: a step (S12) of converting physical quantities related to an earth structure (S) to be analyzed into discrete values according to characteristics of the physical quantities; a step (S13) of generating a pre-conversion image (I1) with the same shape as a cross section of the earth structure (S) showing a distribution of the discrete values within the earth structure (S); and a step (S14) of converting the pre-conversion image (I1) into a rectangular input image (I2).SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
