A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
To provide a nuclear shelter preventing a damage caused by an impact of a nuclear bomb.SOLUTION: In order to inexpensively construct a facility preventing internal exposure from Γ rays and neutrons, radiant heat and blast waves caused by an impact of a nuclear bomb, and radioactivity in the atmosphere, a building using units in which steel plate formworks 1-4 are used as a formwork and connected with reinforcing bars 1-2 is made to have a double structure and a hollow structure. Water is poured into the hollow part. The steel plate formwork blocks the Γ rays. A strength of the building is increased by being joined with the reinforcing bars 1-2. Since the steel plate formworks 1-4 are used as a wall material as they are, there is no need to remove the formwork. The unit can be produced at a factory to lead to cost reduction. A concrete layer covered by the steel plate formworks 1-4 is free from cracks and the like. The poured water into the hollow part prevents heat from surrounding fires. Spraying the poured water leads to heat insulation of the building. Concrete has a particularly high blocking effect on Γ rays and neutron beams, and water has a particularly high blocking effect on neutron beams.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
