To provide a hatch mounting structure with good waterproofness and easy construction, and a hatch construction method.SOLUTION: A hatch mounting structure S includes a floor body 14 formed with an opening 14A penetrating vertically, a hatch frame 12 having a frame shape, provided in the opening 14A, fixed to the floor body 14, and having a lower overhang portion 52 projecting outward, a finished floor body 16 provided above the floor body 14 to which the hatch frame 12 is mounted, a waterproof sheet 18 (waterproof layer) provided from the upper surface of the finished floor body 16 to an upper surface 52A of the lower overhang portion 52 in the hatch frame 12, an additional frame 20 mounted to the hatch frame 12 from above, an upper overhang portion 22 provided on the additional frame 20, overhanging to the outside of the hatch frame 12 above the lower overhang portion 52, and covering the end of the waterproof layer on the hatch frame 12 side, and a waterproof portion 24 that closes the gap between the upper overhang portion 22 and the waterproof sheet 18.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
