To provide a buckling restraining brace with wooden restraining plates arranged around a steel core material, and having resistance to both overall buckling of the buckling restraining brace and higher-order buckling of the core material.SOLUTION: A buckling restraining brace 100 comprises a steel, plate-shaped core material 10, a pair of wooden restraining plates 40 arranged opposite at least two wide faces 10a of the core material 10, a pair of steel interior plates 20 interposed between two wide faces 10a of the core material 10 and the wide faces of the restraining plates 40 corresponding to each of the wide faces 10a and a pair of steel connecting materials 30 that face two narrow faces 10b of the core material 10 and connect the pair of interior plates 20.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
