To provide a guest engagement system and method which implements seamless engagement with a guest of a facility through the use of wireless sensing technologies.SOLUTION: A guest engagement system 10 makes use of individual guest devices 11 which are carried by guests 12 and are used to automatically identify and authenticate the guests throughout a facility, to seamlessly provide a service to the guests throughout the facility. The service includes automatically unlocking a door lock 17a of doors including hotel or cabin doors on the basis of guests' immediate proximity to doors of rooms assigned to them. The service also includes an automated payment service provided at a checkout, a vendor 17b, and so on and automated log-on to an interactive display 17c and a portal 17d on the basis of secure wireless authentication of the guest devices.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1A
