To provide a pier capable of reducing the time required for building while improving earthquake resistance.SOLUTION: A pier 1 is built over a river 9 used for building a new bridge, and the like. The pier 1 includes: a new bridge substructure aligned with the river 9 flow direction and three (or more) pier substructures 10 having two (or more) spans; and a pier superstructure 11 with a continuous girder installed on top of the three (or more) substructures 10 for spanning two or more spans.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
