To provide a technology for reducing the generation of H2S when alumina cement is used.SOLUTION: An alumina cement composition comprises an alumina cement and a sulfur-containing sulfur compound, wherein the alumina cement composition contains CaS as the sulfur compound and one or more components selected from the group consisting of Al2(SO4)3_8H2O, CaSO4, and Al2S3. A ratio of a content of CaS to the sum of the contents of CaS, Al2(SO4)3_8H2O, CaSO4 and Al2S3 in the alumina cement composition is 10 mass% or more and 65 mass% or less.SELECTED DRAWING: None
