To provide a honeycomb structure capable of relaxing a flow rate difference of exhaust gas between center and outer peripheral parts.SOLUTION: A columnar honeycomb structure 110 comprises: a conductive columnar honeycomb structure part; and a pair of electrode layers 112a, 112b. In a vertical cross section where cells 115 extend, when a coordinate axis is arranged in a radial direction, a coordinate value of a centroid O is 0, and a coordinate value of an outer surface of an outer peripheral wall is 1.0R, an average length R1 of the honeycomb structure part in a direction where cells extend from a first end face 116 to a second end face in a range of 0 to 0.7 R (center), and an average length R2 of the honeycomb structure part in a range of 0.7 R to 1.0 R (outer peripheral part) satisfy 0.5≤R2/R1<1.0. The average length R1 has a length of 99% or greater of a maximum value of the length of the honeycomb structure part where the cells extend from the first end face to the second end face in the center part, and the cells located on the center and the cells located on the outer peripheral part form a channel of fluid together.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
