HONEYCOMB FILTER AND MANUFACTURING METHOD OF HONEYCOMB FILTER
To provide a honeycomb filter hardly reduced in PM catching performance.SOLUTION: A honeycomb filter comprises: an exhaust gas introduction cell which includes a porous cell partition wall defining and forming a plurality of cells to be a flow passage of exhaust gas and of which the end at the side of an exhaust gas inlet is opened and the end at the side of an exhaust gas outlet is plugged; and an exhaust gas exhaustion cell of which the end at the side of the exhaust gas outlet is opened and the end at the side of the exhaust gas inlet is plugged. In the honeycomb filter, the cell partition wall is composed of an SiC porous body, and an average particle size of SiC particles constituting the SiC porous body ranges from 10 to 50 μm. SiC fine particles having an average particle size ranging from 1 to 5 μm are sintered and deposited on a surface of the cell partition wall at the side of the exhaust gas introduction cell.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 5
