The invention relates to a rock drilling machine and a method of lubricating a shank of the rock drilling machine. The rock drilling machine (4) comprises a rotatable shank (6) for connecting a drilling tool (7). The shank is rotated by a rotating sleeve (14) arranged around the shank. Gears (43, 44) are arranged between the shank and the rotating sleeve. The rock drilling machine is provided with a lubricating system (23) for lubricating the gears and also bearings (15) of the rotating sleeve.
