The removable ladder tray having a generally planar base with a ladder opening formed there through. The base having a base top surrounded by a peripheral wall. A brace on the base top adjacent the ladder opening. The brace having locking plate supporting a ladder head engagement surface at an adjustable distance from the base top. The ladder in the ladder opening having the ladder tray surroundingly on the step ladder with the plurality of legs in the ladder opening and the base top between the ladder head and the rungs. The ladder head engagement surface bearing against the ladder head whereby the ladder tray is held in a generally level orientation.
