An authentication device (10) comprises an acquisition unit (110) and an authentication unit (120). The acquisition unit (110) acquires, from a portable terminal (20), master biological information of a target person, and authentication biological information that is biological information of the target person, generated by the portable terminal (20). The authentication unit (120) performs authentication processing for the target person by using the authentication biological information and master biological information. The authentication device (10) may further comprise an entry processing unit (130). When the authentication unit (120) has generated authenticated information indicating that the target person has been successfully authenticated, the entry processing unit (130) performs at least a part of processing for enabling the target person to enter a target area.
