Long-Term Processes in Geomaterials. Three Dimensional Consolidation in GEOnac
Three dimensional consolidation is implemented in the finite element program GEOnac as a part of the STP project. The main steps in the implementation of the consolidation algorithm is described in this report. Two numerical examples are presented in order to validate the implementation of the consolidation algorithm. The tests that are performed show that the three dimensional consolidation algorithm give results according to Terzaghi's consolidation theory. Both the undrained and the consolidation parts of the algorithm are verified.
