Static Tests on Unsymmetrical Plate Girders Main Test Series
Two unsymmetrical plate girders made of A36 steel were tested under statically applied loading. The primary objectives of the tests were: verification of a new theory developed for the determination of the ultimate load of unsymmetrical plate girder (not described), and investigation of the behavior of the girder components under an increasing load. The layout and size of the girder elements were selected in such a way as to define the monent-shear interaction curve in the region of high moment and high shear. Only the end panels of the girder were subjected primarily to shear. (Author)
