The project provides for diked disposal of polluted maintenance dredge spoil from Duluth-Superior Harbor. Polluted dredge spoil, previously dumped in open waters of Lake Superior, will be confined in two diked disposal areas. Undesirable impacts include turbidity of harbor water during construction of the diked areas, unsightliness during construction and filling, and possible noxious odors.
