Building Construction for Fire Suppression Forces: Noncombustible and Fire-Resistive Construction (Instructor Package)
Designed to provide an introduction to the special characteristics of large and more complicated noncombustible and fire-resistive construction as they effect the fire service. The course meets selected objectives of NPQS standards number 1001, level III; number 1021, levels I-III; and number 1031. Primary emphasis focuses on (1) improving the fire officer's ability to ensure firefighter safety, (2) recognizing common causes and indicators of structural failure, (3) other hazards relating to building construction or contents, (4) overall effect of a building to fire conditions.
