Building Construction for Fire Suppression Forces: Principles, Wood, and Ordinary Construction (Instructor Package)
Designed to provide an introduction to basic construction principles and the special characteristics of wood and ordinary construction as they concern firefighter safety. The course meets selected objectives of NPQS standards number 1001, level III; number 1021, level I-III; and number 1031. Topics include (1) identification of operational safety concerns, (2) analysis of building design, materials and construction, (3) recognizing common causes and indicators of structural failure.
