Perry's Victory and International Peace Memorial and its great doric column commemorate the naval victory of Commodore Oliver Hazard Perry on September 10, 1813. They also memorialize the principle of maintaining peace among nations by arbitration and disarmament. Built in 1912-15, the granite column rises 352 feet above Lake Erie. This report reflects the structural, architectural, and mechanical investigation completed on the Memorial Column and Plazas. The purpose of the report is to provide information valuable to the preservation at standard of this structure. The report contains illustrations, drawings, and supportive field data.
