Baltimore Region Rapid Transit Study. Volume III. Station Area Proposals: Southern Transit Corridor
After an analysis of various routes in the Southern Transit Corridor, the study proposed an alternate to the Metropolitan Transit Authority's previous expressway median route. The Planning Department suggested route would have several advantages to the City and MTA: superior access to a larger number of transit patrons: better location for service yard and more park and ride space; nearness to existing regionally significant facilities as well as vacant tracts for future intense development; no significant increase in construction cost.
