The Collection Management Plan (CMP) for Fort Washington Park (FOWA) is the fifth in a series of nine plans for the National Capital Region (NCR). The plan analyzes the collection from a curatorial viewpoint and makes recommendations for improving the care of collections. The collection management plan addresses the following needs: revision of Scope of Collection Statement; disposing of objects inappropriate to Fort Washington; improving museum records keeping and accountability for collection; improving security; consolidation of on-site collection storage and improving museum storage conditions; preservation and disposition of archival volumes; preservation and exhibition of artillery pieces; curatorial/archeological staffing needs; and management and interpretation of the Fort Washington archeological collection.
