Cultural Resource Assessment of Goodfellow Air Force Base Tom Green County, Texas
A cultural resource assessment of prehistoric and historic resources was conducted for Goodfellow Air Force Base between 30 January and 3 February 1995, by the National Park Service. The assessment was part of the cultural resource archeological baseline survey requested by Headquarters Air Education and Training Command. The base encompasses 448 hectares (1,108 acres) of base-owned land and 6.11 hectares (15.1 acres) of leased land at the Recreation Annex on Lake Nasworthy. The base has nearly 150 buildings. The assessment included a review of previous cultural resources investigations, an archeological reconnaissance survey of approximately 182 hectares (450 acres) of open areas on the base and 15 acres at the recreation area at structures built between 1942 and 1955.
