Laser Ablation and Application to Thin Film Deposition
Abstract Since the beginning of works concerning lasers, numerous theoretical and experimental works have been undertaken in order to understand the phenomena that govern the interaction of a laser radiation with a material and excellent review books have been published on this subject as those proposed in the references [1–11]. Generally, the interaction and the effects that result of the interaction, depend on numerous parameters such as the nature, the physical and chemical characteristics of the material and of its surface, the fluence, the wavelength and the irradiation duration of the laser radiation and finally the nature and the pressure of the surrounding atmosphere. Schematically, three regions may be distinguished.
