A platform for research: civil engineering, architecture and urbanism
This chapter presents six case studies of projects in which building information modeling (BIM) faculty management (FM) integration played a significant role. The case studies include MathWorks, Texas A&M Health Science Center, USC School of Cinematic Arts, Implementation of BIM and FM at Xavier University, State of Wisconsin Bureau of Facilities Management, Division of State Facilities, Department of Administration, and University of Chicago Administration Building Renovation. The case studies emphasize the planning, technologies, and coordination needed to implement successful use of BIM for FM. These case studies were written by students at Georgia Tech and USC Universities, and professionals with backgrounds in the building industry. The chapter provides a brief description of each case study, the type of owner, the major software that was used, and the phases of the project covered in the study.
