Characteristics of co‐renovation (part 1): Effectiveness of renovation in detached house areas for human connections, case study in Shioya, Kobe
This paper introduces the concept of co‐renovation, which involves creating a network of people, objects, and events during the renovation process. The study examines the effectiveness of co‐renovation in two ways. First, by promoting an open approach to the renovation process and the resulting house, it is possible to stimulate connections between those involved in the renovation. Second, the creation of a renovation network can encourage a sense of community development, leading to independent regional initiatives that extend beyond the renovation project. To optimize the effectiveness of co‐renovation, it is crucial to foster spontaneous connections, and this paper provides a summary of the factors that contribute to this.
