Application of Electrospun Materials in Catalysis
Electrospun materials are one of the most curial topics in allied applications of electrospinning technique. Several researches have been done on this field in recent years to improve the application area of catalysis. The preparation method, content, and spinning conditions of electrospun solutions, collecting technique of spinned materials, and applied post‐procedures, etc., are so critical to obtain desired nanofiber structures. These directly affect the external and internal properties of materials that are significantly important for the activity of the catalytic materials. The electrospun materials are not only used as catalysts in the applications but also preferred as catalyst supports due to their properties that are dependent on the field. This chapter focuses on the application areas of electrospun materials in catalysis and does not investigate the parameters that are effective on the preparation of the fibers. Several reactions such as oxidation, reduction, degradation in the field of energy, and environment applications have been carried out in the presence of heterogeneous catalysts prepared by the electrospinning technique. This chapter is going to investigate recent approaches for these specific applications of catalysis.
