The invention discloses a pumping method of a concrete pump truck and a pumping control device for a concrete pump truck. The pumping method comprises the steps of selecting a pumping mode; determining reference engine rotating speed corresponding to the selected pumping mode; accelerating an engine to reach the reference engine rotating speed; starting oil pump displacement opening degree; starting pumping. The pumping control device for the concrete pump truck comprises a concrete variety selecting switch, a displacement gear selecting switch, a storing device for storing the reference engine rotating speed of the pumping mode corresponding to the combination at each displacement gear and the variety of concrete, and a control device for controlling the pump truck to run based on the reference engine rotating speed. With the adoption of the method and device, different pumping modes are set according to different concrete varieties so as to be quickly adapted to the variety of the concrete, and as a result, lots of time for adapting to the system and load can be saved; in addition, the stability is improved.
