The invention relates to the field of building materials, in particular to a sound-insulation building material capable of effectively improving the sound-insulation effect. The sound-insulation building material comprises, by weight, 70-100 parts of cement, 40-60 parts of rice shell particles, 40-60 parts of coal ash, 1-5 parts of plant perfume materials, 3-8 parts of wood fibers, 5-20 parts of flame retardant, 1-5 parts of diatomite powder and 3-8 parts of hollow glass beads. Through adding the waste of the coal ash and the rice shell particles into the building material, the sound-insulation building material has great significance for environmental protection, and has the advantages of being good in sound-insulation effect and high in strength.
