The invention further provides an installation method of the box girder formwork support, which comprises the steps of firstly, installing the lower padstone and the support padstone, and placing a bottom formwork elevation line of the box girder at a pier and a bridge abutment; laying a box girder bottom formwork; pouring concrete after box girder reinforcing steel bars are connected and installed; finally, taking out the jacks, and removing the battens and the box girder bottom formwork. According to the device and the method, the situation that the formwork and the battens cannot be removed during formwork disassembly is avoided, and the engineering quality and progress are improved.
