The preparation method of the thermal insulation material comprises the following steps: S1, mixing and stirring calcined kaolin, glass ceramic, water, potassium permanganate, calcium stearate, polystyrene particles, glass ceramic, perlite and the flame retardant; S2, adding the nano cement additive; S3, adding hydrogen peroxide; S4, adding the active agent. The thermal insulation material is simple in formula, wide in raw material source and easy to obtain, the preparation method is simple and easy tooperate, and the thermal insulation material is uniform in foaming, small in product density, low in heat conductivity coefficient, capable of meeting the energy-saving standard, capable of meeting the A-level fireproof requirement and wide in application range; and the flame retardant adopted by the invention is an inorganic flame retardant, and the inorganic flame retardant has the advantages oflow heat conductivity coefficient and simple material acquisition.
