The technical problem to be solved by the invention is toprovide the preparation method of the mullite porous ceramic. The preparation method comprises the following steps: uniformly mixing quartz sand powder, special-grade alumina powder, a binding agent,a mineralizing agent and a pore-forming agent, adding water, and carrying out uniform mixing to obtain a semi-dry material; and pouring the semi-dry material into a mold to form a semi-finished product, and calcining the semi-finished product to obtain the mullite porous ceramic, wherein the binding agent is aluminate cement, and the mineralizing agent is titanium dioxide. The mullite porous ceramic prepared by the method provided by the invention has good performance.
