The invention relates to a curtain wall and an installation method thereof. The curtain wall comprises a positioning plate, a positioning profile and a composite plate, wherein the positioning profilecomprises a plurality of mounting plates which are installed on the positioning plate and a plurality of support rods which are fixed to the mounting plates and are perpendicular to the mounting plates, connecting lines of the plurality of support rods are located in the same vertical plane, two mounting rods which are connected with the plurality of support rods and can slide on the support rodssleeve the support rods, the support rods penetrate through the two mounting rods and are used for clamping the composite plate, mounting assemblies which enable the two mounting rods to abut againstthe composite plate are arranged on the mounting rods, and abutting assemblies which enable the mounting rods to abut against the positioning plate are arranged on the ends of the support rods. A construction method comprises the steps of removing mounting nuts and abutting blocks, connecting extension rods to the support rods in a threaded mode, and sliding the mounting rods to the extension rods for removal. The curtain wall has the effect that the composite plate is convenient to replace.
