The method specifically comprises the steps: before hoisting construction of the box girder section of the main girder, firstly, constructing and building a construction temporary bridge on each of two sides of the main body building area of the steel box girder bridge, arranging gantry rails on the construction temporary bridges along the trend of the construction temporary bridges, and supporting and erecting two gantry cranes on the gantry rails of the construction temporary bridges on the two sides; and then using the two gantry cranes for carrying out hoisting construction on all the box girder sections of the steel box girder bridge. According to the invention, the hoisting construction of each box girder section of the main girder can be carried out by directly adopting the hoisting method of the gantry crane, and then the hoisting construction of the main girder is carried out by fully utilizing the built construction temporary bridges on the two sides, so that the construction of the main girder is more convenient, and the hoisting construction cost can be effectively saved.
