The invention belongs to the technical field of reinforcing materials, and particularly relates to a fiber bundle, a preparation method and application thereof and a fiber reinforced composite material. A plurality of monofilament fibers are combined together to form a fiber bundle, the surface of each fiber is provided with a surface additive to increase friction polymerization force among the fibers, and then the outer surface of the fiber bundle is coated with a binder coating. The fiber bundles are provided with independent fiber filaments, the fiber filaments are limited by surrounding fiber filaments mainly through friction instead of bonding, and therefore gradual but independent fibers are allowed to be broken or pulled out, the failure of the whole fiber bundles caused by the fact that the fiber filaments are broken or pulled out independently is delayed, and the effect of prolonging fiber bridging is achieved. The fiber bundle reinforced composite material has the advantages that the fiber bundle reinforced composite material is prevented from being pulled out too early, high bonding strength between the fiber bundle reinforced composite material and a composite base material can be fully utilized, high composite strength is achieved, fiber bundle breakage can be delayed, and the tensile properties (strength, ductility and toughness) of the fiber bundle reinforced composite material are improved.
