The invention discloses a vertical rotation type inerter damping device which comprises an upper sleeve, a lower sleeve, a vertical driving rod, an upper end magnet assembly and a lower end magnet assembly. The upper end magnet assembly comprises an upper end inner side supporting frame, an upper end inner side supporting frame, an upper end integrated magnet and four upper end strip-shaped magnets. The lower end magnet assembly comprises a lower end supporting plate, a lower end integrated magnet and four lower end strip-shaped magnets. The vertical driving rod comprises a ball screw part and a metal rod part, the upper top plate is provided with a ball nut corresponding to the ball screw part, and the metal rod part is provided with an upper ratchet mechanism and a lower ratchet mechanism; the metal rod part is further sleeved with a rotating shaft installation frame, the rotating shaft installation frame is provided with four movable rotating shafts, and the outer end of each movable rotating shaft is provided with a copper sheet. A rotating shaft gear is arranged at the inner end part of each movable rotating shaft; and a ratchet wheel of the upper ratchet wheel mechanism and a ratchet wheel of the lower ratchet wheel mechanism are respectively meshed with each rotating shaft gear through a gear part. By means of the structural design, the electromagnetic energy dissipation device has the advantages of being novel in structural design and good in electromagnetic energy dissipation effect.
