The invention discloses a segment-assembled circular open caisson and a construction method thereof, and belongs to the technical field of assembled open caissons. The problems that in the prior art, a traditional cast open caisson is long in construction period, and an assembly type open caisson is poor in waterproof performance are solved. Prefabricated light high-strength concrete bodies are adopted for open caisson assembly, the top ends of upper light high-strength concrete circular plates, the top ends of middle light high-strength concrete circular plates and the top ends of lower light high-strength concrete circular plates are all provided with water stop belt grooves for installing water swelling rubber strips, and the outer walls are all coated with waterproof materials in the construction process; the light high-strength concrete circular plates are connected through the wedge-shaped body plug pins and the wedge-shaped body grooves and are assembled and fixed through the bolts and the assembly holes. The number and the positions of the wedge-shaped body grooves can be adjusted according to actual requirements, and the needed sinking depth is achieved by adding the number of the middle light high-strength concrete circular plates. The construction period is effectively shortened, the waterproof and anti-seismic performance is improved, and the construction method can be applied to open caisson engineering.
